Change to the storyboard

In our first idea we originally wanted fire in it and a car scene. We weren't able to do this because we couldn't find anybody to help us film it and due to the weather as well. We also had trouble getting to our original location. We had to change our idea from the storyboard (which we haven't uploaded yet.) It is a shame that we couldn't use fire and a car scene in the film because it would have made it look more technical and would have been a better use of the thriller. However, I think that the thriller that we eventually came up looks good as well and it works.

The Butterfly Effect Poster

The Butterfly Effect Poster

I am now going to write about the poster and explain the image, text and colours.

The image shows suspense as it is two images on a skull back to back in the image of a butterfly. The images are fairly distorted. It outlines the x-ray image of the skulls which is very bold. Makes you wonder why the skulls would be relevant to the butterfly.

The text at the top of the poster is the name of the actor - Ashton Kutcher. The writing is in bold white with a little bit of text shadow. The text is just basically plain but bold.

The actor is stood in the middle of the poster, with a shadow of himself stood behind and a bright shining light behind as well. This makes him look very powerful as the light is shining from behind him. You don't exactly know the relevance of the butterfly, actor and skulls but already it is building suspense which would make the audience want to view this film.

Just underneath the actor there is some text as well. This says "It will all end in the beginning." The text is in white, but not very bold... just so you can see it. The text itself sounds very interesting, and because the writing is interesting it will already have the audience hooked.

The title is in a different font to every other bit of text in the poster. It stands out because of this. It is in bold as well... this also makes the poster stand out as well. All of the text is in white part from the "Coming Soon" at the bottom of the poster. This is in red, which makes it stand out to every other bit of the text. This is because of the different colour, and usually people want to look at the poster to find out when the film is coming out. The audiences eyes will be drawn to this.

Sound effects for thriller

Me and Nathaniel were originally going to make some music for our thriller through Garageband. We tried, but we could not seem to make some music which would be suitable for the thriller opening. We then decided that sound effects would be more appropriate for the thriller, as it puts emphasis on the actions that are going on throughout the opening.
We found our sound effects on iMovie. We found some music on iMovie which was appropriate for the opening as it builds suspense. We then put the sound effects over the music which makes it sound quite bold. We wanted some music which would be able to build suspense but as we have no experience in making music on Garageband, it was fairly hard. We may have taken the easy way out, but we thought that it would be more beneficial to the thriller.
